Mumbai Energy Alliance (MEA) is a novel partnership intended to scale up implementation of energy efficiency programs in the Greater Mumbai region. The vision of MEA is to mobilize a collaborative effort to deliver large-scale, measurable energy efficiency improvements in Mumbai targeted at reducing the city’s long-term energy costs and carbon footprint. Drawing upon the successful experience of the pioneering model of the Cambridge Energy Alliance (http://www.cambridgeenergyalliance.org/), the MEA plans to implement citywide energy efficiency programs using innovative service delivery mechanisms combining technological, economic, social and financial mechanisms.

MEA is supported by grant funding from Blue Moon Foundation (BMF), Overbrook Foundation (OF) and the French International Agency for Development (AFD). The Mumbai Energy Alliance will be managed and coordinated by the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC), a global not-for profit, non-government organization, through its local office in Mumbai.
